  1. How well did you know your partner before this activity?

I knew nothing about my partner before this activity. All I knew was that we had the same ART110 class.

2.How well do you know them now?

I feel that I know a good amount about my partner now that I wouldn’t consider them a stranger anymore. Me and my partner did not have much in common but were open to learn more about our favorite hobbies and feelings about zoom university.

3.Does this seem like a way to make new connections in a time of pandemic isolation?

Choosing a partner and texting them for a week is a good way for people to introduce themselves to their classmates so we are not all complete strangers and it would make it easier to interact with the class since we would get to know our peers. But a week isn’t enough to really get to know someone.

4.What is another way you can think of to make new connections in a time of pandemic isolation?

I cant think of a better way to make a connection rather than interacting with someone face to face. An alternative would be to work in smaller groups every week, that way we get to know a few peers at a time rather than attending a class of 100+ people and everyone trying to talk all at once.

5.What platform did you use to communicate with your partner? How well did it work? Or not work? What other tool, or type of tool, might have been better?

Me and my partner decided to use Imessage. This platform worked better for the both of us. It was an easy way for me to shoot a quick text and more convenient for my partner because they dont really use social media. Imessage was the best option for both of us.

6.How did Padlet work for you? Was it easy to use? Did it communicate well? Can you think of another platform that might be better?

Padlet was very easy and fun to use. I got the hang of it right away and I liked how we are able to customize the colors and emojis. It was easy to organized me and my partners conversations according to the day. I would definitely use it again.

7.What if, instead of meeting classmates, your goal was professional connections? How can you connect to people in your field in a time of pandemic isolation?

I feel that zoom would remain the best option for conference calls and a professional manner. To be able to gather everyone up in one place without risking your health.
